Get to Know Andrew
Since starting his journey into the property auction industry in 1999, Andrew Binstock has built an unrivalled reputation as a high-performing – and even higher-energy – auctioneer with a truly unique style. As co-founder of Auction House London, Andrew has played a pivotal role in building the business into one of the most recognised and respected auction houses in the UK.
Known for his energetic delivery, engaging manner and his refusal to bring the gavel down until the very last pound has been extracted, Andrew’s talent lies in bringing theatre and pace to the rostrum. His commitment to getting the best outcome for clients has seen him personally sell thousands of properties and drive total sales of over £3 billion across his career.
A familiar face to millions, Andrew is the most regularly featured auctioneer on BBC1’s Homes Under the Hammer, where his signature style and memorable on-screen persona have made him a firm favourite with the show’s viewers.
Before co-founding Auction House London in 2011 with Jamie Royston, Andrew co-founded one of the UK’s first online auction platforms and later (2006) joined Sutton Kersh in Liverpool as a lead auctioneer, where he refined his craft even further. His forward-thinking approach and passion for property laid the foundations for where he is today.
Beyond the property world, Andrew is also a highly sought-after charity and corporate auctioneer, having hosted many prestigious events at venues such as Blenheim Palace and alongside celebrities including Eva Longoria.
When he’s not under the spotlight, Andrew is a keen footballer and lifelong Chelsea supporter.

A Word from Andrew Himself
The rostrum is where I do my best work, whether I am selling property or raising money for charity.
These days, most of our auctions are livestreamed, and while they are fast, efficient, and practical, I do miss the electric atmosphere of a live auction room. That is why I always seize the opportunity to lead a charity auction. Reading the crowd, knowing when to push and when to hold, is an art form. There is nothing like it.
Some still think auctions are a last resort. They are not. Auctions are a more innovative, more transparent way to buy and sell.

More people are entering the room both online and in person, and that’s great news for sellers. Higher stock levels and rising demand mean competition is more intense, and competitive auction […]

The UK housing market in early 2026 definitely feels different to the tight conditions of recent years. More property is coming through, including auction stock. Price growth has steadied and mortgage rates have settled into a narrower range, while transaction levels are improving from the slower pace seen during the adjustment period of 2023 and 2024. And yet one issue remains familiar to sellers, […]

Transaction levels are also recovering without racing ahead, implying a much-needed reset rather than a boom cycle. And just such a reset can prove rather useful for auction buyers. […]
